Phototherapy

In neonatology, our activities focus mainly on the treatment of hyperbilirubinaemia, also known as "neonatal jaundice".

Medela has not only developed a substantially superior lamp for conventional phototherapy (exposure to special light), but has also created the BiliBed, a revolutionary new light treatment system which is placed in the baby's cot. With Medela's unique BiliBed phototherapy system, contact between mother and baby is no longer restricted and makes baby-friendly rooming-in reality.
