| This year's Medela Research Conference in Manchester was a great success. Over 200 lactation consultants (IBCLC), midwives, doctors and other breastfeeding professionals mainly from the UK participated in the event. They took the opportunity to meet and exchange information on the latest research topics with the team from the Human Lactation Research Group of the University of Western Australia. Under the expert guidance of Professor Peter Hartmann the audience has learnt about significant findings in the areas of Breast Anatomy and The Science of Infant Sucking. Innovation and research accompany Medela in our every day work and play a most important role. This is why it was so important for us to organise this Symposium and to take the opportunity to share our latest knowledge about Breastfeeding. Knowledge alone and scientific research behind closed doors are simply not enough for us. Promoting and sharing information about new findings completes our research programme and ensures the knowledge transfer to mothers for their babies. With this symposium we brought our new research efforts to life. back | ![]() Dr. Leon Mitoulas, Head of Breastfeeding Research, Medela AG ![]() Dr. Donna Geddes, University of Western Australia ![]() Professor Peter Hartmann, University of Western Australia |
